I am learning to hold space for my grief while embracing the love Ellie brought into my life, a love that transcends even her absence. Each day, I strive to transform this pain into deeper self-compassion, honoring her memory by growing through the hardest moments.
What Ellie Wants You To Know…

I am devastated right now. In ways I wasn’t expecting.

My whole home became one big play pen for Ellie. Everywhere I look I am reminded about how she was in every part of my life. Because she couldn’t get around on her own, my entire day revolved around her. So it’s going to take time to not be hit with such painful missing of her beautiful physical presence in my life.

I am letting myself ride these waves. I am walking my talk, and taking the downtime I need to feel this huge Love I shared and will continue to share with Ellie.

While I am allowing my human to hurt right now, I am also making sure I am spending time experiencing that I am more than my human hurts. I am the Big Love that’s holding, listening, and loving the pain.

And so today’s Sacred Workout is “Loving Yourself, When the Whole World Walks Out”.

And you know it’s not the the whole world EVER works out on us. But it does feel that way sometimes. Doesn’t it?

We’ll resume tomorrow with Fenix’ PepTalks and PepWalks… but today Ellie and I want to say thank you to Michael and his 3 boys: the Forever home Ellie unfortunately never got to go to.

This Fenix family continues to bring me to my knees, in humility, in awe, in gratitude.

And I want to share the key process I am using to turn my pain into greater Loving and closeness with Ellie.

Learning to Love Ourselves, When We’re in Pain is Hard

Even if we’ve been super well loved, it’s HARD to learn to love ourselves the way that we need to be loved, when life feels impossible.

When we’re so consumed by our hurts, it’s hard to lift into our Huge Heart.

Our Pains IS Here to Expand Us into More Love

It requires NOTHING to love ourselves when life is easy.

What really helps us grow into our own Super Human Powers is to learn how to Love Us when we’re in pain.

I wish this life were easier. I really do. But I am glad I’ve learned some of the skills, and grown some of the HUGE muscles of Self-Love, through my most challenging moments. Through my most impossibly painful times.

And I am taking time every day to feel Ellie close. To use her joy, overwhelming courage and nonstop energy to inspire me to keep going. Maybe Ellie can support you – or you have another awe-some being that is within you helping you keep moving forward.

An Everlasting Self-Love Workout 💪 Loving Yourself, When the Whole World Walks Out

  1. What is a moment, in your life, when it felt like the whole world walked out. I know. This is no small question. This might be a life-changing and life-determining moment. Do you have the courage to come face to face with a moment, when you felt left, alone, unloved.
  2. In that moment, what did you need that you didn’t get?! Take whatever time you need, before you can honestly answer this question. There might be tears. There might be rage. But hang in there. Allow all that. Keep letting go of any and all of that. Until you can find in your heart – what did you need that you didn’t get then?!
  3. Now I want you to call on the most loving person you know. The one that’s loved you best this life. I want you to remember and experience that their LOVE is never far away. It’s always available in your heart. THEY are always available in your heart. And so I want you to feel them hugging and loving you. Let their love for you charge your huge battery of Loving inside.
  4. Now it’s your turn. You, as the Big, Bold and incredibly Brave Soul that you are – I want you to imagine that you are back there, in that moment when ‘the whole world walked out’. Imagine a parallel Universe, where you get to pick that version of you up in your arms, and you get to love it. [It’s important not to try to change anything, fix anything or make anything different. You’re just here to Love. To have the kind of compassion and kindness and support that you NEEDED back then.]
  5. You might like to speak kind, supportive, sweet, tender words to your little self inside.
  6. You might want to use your imagination to hug, and allow yourself to experienced something you needed.
  7. Just trust you. Love you. Give that kind of everlasting Love that you would give another – to yourself.
