A Sacred Giving Workout
A Guided Process for Authentic Volunteering
- First, be aware of any of the ways that you help right now, and give yourself credit for that. It could be a number, a family member, a friend. But do your best to see that you are probably already giving of your time in a number of ways. Great job!
- Brainstorm time. If you were to give a few hours of your time every week, to someone, some organization, some cause – who would that be? No decisions or commitments here. Just write down anyone or any group that comes to mind! And remember you can google ‘volunteer’ and your city’s name to get great opportunities in your area!
- Now trust yourself. There may be one or a few of the suggestions you’ve written down that really call to you…choose the one that feels joyful and expansive for you!
- Action time. Let yourself be aware if you’re ready to take action, and reach out and offer to volunteer or find out the next steps! Remind yourself that giving this time to another will be a wonderful investment in your health and happiness!
