Understanding Stress, and How to Show Up Without it 😳

Focus on the journey, not just the outcome. When we show up fully and enjoy the process without fixating on results, we unlock the energy and enthusiasm needed to live more freely and authentically.
Understanding Stress, and How to Show Up Without it 😳

Struggling to feel motivated and upbeat on Monday mornings?

A simple tweak could be the solution. In these stressful times, even small changes can make a big impact.

We’re all navigating a highly stressful time, to say the least. Stress typically impacts us in two primary ways:

  1. Overworking: Pushing too hard, thinking too much, creating too much, and taking on too much all at once. (For fans of Parks & Rec, think Leslie Knope).
  2. Tuning out: Disconnecting and going through the motions without much care or concern. (Think April Ludgate).

Overworking is often ‘High Involvement, High Attachment’.

We work ourselves into exhaustion because we’re deeply attached to the outcome. We show up and take action, but that excessive attachment often leads to stress, burnout, and even unhealthy behaviors.

Tuning out is ‘Low Involvement, Low Attachment.’

On the flip side, disconnecting from the outcome may seem like a way to avoid stress. However, this detachment can foster anxiety and depression since we’re not actively pursuing what our heart truly desires.

There is a third path: High Involvement with Low Attachment.

This approach involves showing up fully without being fixated on the result. It’s about being present, doing your best, and enjoying the process without stressing over the final outcome. While it can be challenging, with time, we can train ourselves to let go of the attachment to results, allowing our energy to flow freely as we engage in life.

The key is to focus on the journey, not the destination.

When we shift our focus to how we are showing up, rather than obsessing over results, we can pour our energy into what matters most with enthusiasm and passion.

The most important element of a morning routine:

Focus on the experiences you want in life, not just the outcomes. It’s okay to desire things like promotions, financial success, or personal growth, but it’s equally important to understand the kind of experience you’re hoping those achievements will bring you.

Often, we chase certain outcomes because we believe they will make us feel a certain way. For instance, you might want more money to feel secure or free, or you might long for a relationship to feel loved or accepted. These desires aren’t wrong, but there’s often a deeper reason your soul is pushing you toward them. By tuning into the inner experiences you seek, you can harness your soul’s energy to help you move forward.

A Sacred Motivation Workout 💪 Showing Up Today in High Involvement and Low Attachment

Do this every morning if you can. Or at least once a week. And yep Mondays are a great day for it.

  1. Ask your human self: What do you want?! If you could have anything… ANY THING in this beautiful world, knowing your request were guaranteed… what would you ask for?!
  2. Now imagine it, visualize it and spend some time discovering what inner experience you want! How do you think you’ll feel once you get what you want?! Spend sometime unpacking the inner feeling or ‘frequency’ of what you’re moving towards?
  3. Now once you have your ‘frequency’, how can you focus on showing up in that energy today? Let go of the outcome, the result – that will stress anyone out. Focus on showing up in your best, in the highest frequency you can. And focus on feeling great because you are Doing Your Best!

For example: If… you want more money, because you want to feel free. How can you support yourself feeling free today? How can you make decisions from this inner experience of free?
