Feeling unmotivated on Monday mornings?
A small change might make a big difference. In challenging times like these, even minor adjustments can have a meaningful impact.
We’re all grappling with stress in our own ways, and it often manifests in two common patterns:
- Overworking: Taking on too much, overthinking, and pushing yourself to the brink of exhaustion. (Think Leslie Knope from Parks & Rec).
- Tuning out: Becoming disengaged and just going through the motions. (Think April Ludgate).
Overworking: High Involvement, High Attachment
When we’re overly attached to results, we push ourselves hard, striving relentlessly to achieve. While this drive keeps us moving, it can lead to burnout, stress, and unhealthy habits.
Tuning Out: Low Involvement, Low Attachment
Disengaging from outcomes might seem like a way to escape stress, but it can create its own challenges, such as feelings of anxiety, lack of purpose, or depression.
The Balanced Alternative: High Involvement, Low Attachment
This mindset involves fully engaging in your efforts without being consumed by the outcome. It’s about showing up wholeheartedly, focusing on the process, and releasing the need for control over the results. With practice, this perspective frees up your energy and reduces stress, allowing you to thrive.
Shift your focus to the process, not the results.
By prioritizing how you show up each day instead of fixating on the end goal, you can channel your energy into what truly matters—creating a more fulfilling and joyful experience.
Rethink your morning routine.
Focus on the life experiences you want rather than the specific outcomes. It’s natural to aim for promotions, wealth, or personal milestones, but ask yourself: what feeling or experience are you truly chasing?
Perhaps it’s freedom, security, love, or acceptance. Understanding this deeper desire allows you to align your actions with what your soul truly craves, giving you the clarity and motivation to move forward with purpose.
A Sacred Motivation Workout 💪 Showing Up Today in High Involvement and Low Attachment
Do this every morning if you can. Or at least once a week. And yep Mondays are a great day for it.
- Ask your human self: What do you want?! If you could have anything… ANY THING in this beautiful world, knowing your request were guaranteed… what would you ask for?!
- Now imagine it, visualize it and spend some time discovering what inner experience you want! How do you think you’ll feel once you get what you want?! Spend sometime unpacking the inner feeling or ‘frequency’ of what you’re moving towards?
- Now once you have your ‘frequency’, how can you focus on showing up in that energy today? Let go of the outcome, the result – that will stress anyone out. Focus on showing up in your best, in the highest frequency you can. And focus on feeling great because you are Doing Your Best!
For example: If… you want more money, because you want to feel free. How can you support yourself feeling free today? How can you make decisions from this inner experience of free?
