Unless You’re a Dog…
Striking up conversations with strangers can be a real challenge. It requires a lot of bravery and a willingness to put yourself out there in ways that aren’t always comfortable.
So just for today…
Channel the spirit of a dog. Take a moment to slow down and make an effort to connect with the people around you, even those you don’t know. Spread kindness and offer support wherever you can. Be open, be present, and let your friendliness shine through in every interaction.
Your Sacred Giving Workout 💪 Find Greater Joy in Helping Out at Home
It’s vulnerable to offer help. To stick your neck out and say “hey do you need this?”
It’s brave and bold to make eye contact, when you’re walking in your neighborhood, and be genuinely open to stopping and chatting…
This world needs greater connection. And dogs are showing us how to be brave and bold and to give away our kindness and joy every day.
Let’s take some time today, just 7 minutes, to serve our neighborhood.
- Give 7 minutes today… that’s it. Not much. Just 7 minutes to something around the neighborhood that’s not usually something you do.
- It could be offering to walk a neighbor’s dog.
- It could be walking the block and picking up trash.
- Or calling a neighbor and helping out.
- Going shopping for someone that needs it.
- Or dropping off things you no longer need to your local charity.
- As you’re completing these 7 minutes – take the time to be grateful for your life as it is. Do your best to be aware that you have so much to be grateful for. Your things. Your home. Your neighborhood. The people the live around you. Let yourself consider that each one has been put in your life uniquely and for a reason. Let yourself feel grateful you have them. Let yourself enjoy helping out in an unusual way.
- Now the tricky bit. Just do your best to let go of anything in return. Of any expectation that you’ll be thanked, or appreciated. That you’ll receive any support in anyway. Just do your best!
