Join Us Here at 5pm Pacific Tonight!Meditation Is About Embracing the Journey 🌳
In many mindful practices, the goal is to clear the mind of distractions so we can fully enjoy ourselves and our lives.
We aim to connect with the deeper sense of presence, stillness, and peace that lies beneath the mental noise.
If we’re constantly focused on the future or replaying the past, we miss out on the joy of the present journey.
Focusing on the Heart Helps Us Appreciate Life
By focusing on something alive and physical, like our heartbeat, we can cultivate mindfulness and improve our meditation practice.
While the goal remains to quiet the mind, focusing on the energy and rhythm of our heart can help support this process.
Tuning into the heart's frequency brings numerous benefits, including fostering a deeper connection to love and calm.
Love’s Frequency: Proven by a Boy and His Dog
The key is in genuinely feeling love—not just a warm, fuzzy feeling, but a scientifically measurable state.
Studies show that when we experience love, such as when a puppy enters the room, our heart rhythm becomes more harmonious, shifting from irregular patterns to a smooth, coherent state.
When the heart resonates with love, it strengthens the immune system, activates the parasympathetic nervous system (promoting relaxation and rest), and enhances our ability to regulate mental and emotional states, among other benefits.
A Sacred Muscles Meditation 📿
Using Your Dog or Loved One for a Heart-Full Meditation
This experience is inspired by HeartMath’s Research ‘A boy and his dog’.
Research from the HeartMath Institute indicates that sustained positive emotions lead to a measurable state called psychophysiological coherence. This state enhances harmony in our mental and bodily processes, resulting in optimal functioning. When achieved, it improves the efficiency of our physiological systems, boosts emotional stability, and enhances mental clarity and cognitive function. In short, we feel better, think better, and perform better.
- Sit with your dog, loved one or a photo of a loved one. Invite a loved one or dog to do this meditation with you. For 1 minute, 5 minutes, however long you both choose. If you’re using a photo tune into their heart and ask them silently. Allow yourself to receive their response.
- Just love them. Close your eyes. Connect with your breathing consciously. And then let go of absolutely everything except your intention to Love your dog or loved one.
- Allow yourself to awaken to a deeper experience of your own loving.
- Your mind might wander. That’s normal. Just keep coming back to your focus of actively, warmly and consciously loving your dog or loved one.
- Afterwards you might like to journal any awareness of what happened to your body, your mind and your emotions during this process?!
Use this process as a wonderful way to receive the abundant benefits of heart coherence.
