Dancing has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until I met Eric that I discovered its incredible power to heal.
Fenix’s dad, my amazing husband Eric Lumiere, is a globally celebrated singer-songwriter. He’s got Billboard hits and a pretty big following in certain circles in Europe 🎵.
Music is his whole world. He’s always singing, and believe it or not, he loves dancing even more than I do—or even Fenix!
Eric has brought music into my life in the most abundant and magical way. It’s helped me clear so much negative energy. Music truly is a mystical and transformative force!
Sharing this today reminds me to crank up some tunes and DANCE like nobody’s watching. Let’s fill the day with love, light, and laughter.
Love from me, Dr. Zoë, Fenix (our fluffy floof), and of course, Eric xoxoox
Today’s Intention: Let Love Take the Lead 🎶
Before you get moving, here are four science-backed reasons why dancing is amazing for your mind and body:
- Dancing boosts your self-esteem.
- It can elevate your mood and overall attitude.
- Dancing is linked to preventing dementia as we age [1].
- Research shows it can significantly reduce depression and anxiety. In a 2019 study, college students who listened to classical music every day for two months saw noticeable decreases in anxiety [2].
Music, especially upbeat tunes, has also been proven to improve mood when approached with intention [3].
Moving with Intention
Dancing with intention and freedom is one of the most therapeutic ways to connect with your body and soul.
The rhythmic flow of music helps align your body and mind, encouraging mindfulness and presence. This connection brings joy, freedom, and a sense of empowerment, which can revitalize your energy and lift your spirits. When you move freely to music, you’re not just dancing—you’re healing.
So, let the rhythm guide you and let the healing begin! 💃

Turning the Beat Around 🕺🏽
The key is choosing music that you uniquely L🥰VE 👇
- Choose an upbeat song that makes you feel good. It can be any genre or style, as long as it makes you want to move and feel happy. It’s going to be even more powerful if there is sentimental value in the song you choose!
- Find a comfortable and private space where you can listen to the song without distractions. This can be your bedroom, living room, or even outdoors.
- Take a few deep breaths and set a positive intention for how you want to feel after listening to the song. For example, you may want to feel energized, calm, or happy.
- Start playing the song and let the beat guide you. Move your body in whatever way feels natural and comfortable to you. You can dance, jump, or simply sway to the rhythm.
- Focus on the lyrics and the melody of the song. Let the music fill you up and drown out any negative thoughts or emotions.
- Keep moving and listening to the song until you feel your mood lifting and your energy increasing. Let go of everything. Let go of everything except this wonderful present moment.
- When the song is over, take a moment to appreciate how you feel. If you're not quite there yet, you can always repeat the process with another song!
