Let's Love All of Ourselves!

Embracing every facet of ourselves, flaws and imperfections included, isn't always a straightforward journey. It demands a level of self-awareness and acceptance that can be challenging to cultivate. Yet, delving into the psychological depths reveals that this self-love is not merely a nicety but a fundamental cornerstone for both our happiness and our success.

Consider for a moment, what aspects of yourself do you find the hardest to love? Is it a physical trait, a personality quirk, or perhaps a past mistake that still haunts you? Take a moment to reflect, to be brutally honest with yourself. Recognizing these areas where self-love falters is the first step toward nurturing a more profound sense of self-acceptance.

Now, imagine if that perceived flaw belonged to your child or your closest friend. Would you not extend to them empathy, understanding, and unwavering support? Would you not encourage them to embrace every part of themselves, knowing that their uniqueness is what makes them beautiful? Then why not offer the same compassion to yourself?

Let's shift our perspective. Let's view our imperfections not as blemishes to hide or faults to fix, but as integral parts of our being that contribute to our individuality. Let's understand that it's okay to be flawed because perfection is an unattainable illusion. Let's embrace the journey of self-discovery, acknowledging that each perceived flaw is a thread woven into the intricate tapestry of our existence.

So, let's love all of ourselves—the good, the bad, and the in-between. Let's celebrate our strengths and learn from our weaknesses. Let's cultivate a love for ourselves that is resilient, unwavering, and unconditional. For in doing so, we not only enrich our own lives but also inspire others to embark on their own journey of self-love and acceptance.

A Step by Step Guide

Choosing Happiness Over Judgment

You will need: • 20 minutes + • A safe quiet place to be undisturbed

  1. Consider a situation in which you are feeling very judgmental. It could be political, at work, in a relationship with a loved one, etc, etc. Let yourself describe it. Let yourself feel it and feel that judgment.
  2. What is the outcome you want. Yep it might feel or seem impossible...don’t worry about that right now...just be aware of the outcome you want the most?
  3. Now become aware of how you FEEL INSIDE in this outcome? So in this imagined outcome, how do you feel inside? Joyful? Free? Peaceful? Happy? Relaxed?
  4. Now answer this one simple question: Does your judgment help you feel this way inside, or not? [This simple awareness can be enough to realize that judging creates the feelings and experience inside that we want the least!]
  5. And final question: Can you feel the way that you want – Joyful, Free, Peaceful, Happy, Relaxed?...Even if the situation does NOT change? [If you answered No... consider that you don’t yet realize how powerful you are.] Take this moment to fully claim and realize that your life and your experience is up to you, and holding on to our judgments holds us back from being happy!
